Julia's career began as an apprentice to famed photographer Berenice Abbott, and later, she was a photo editor for the Associated Press in New York. In her 25th year as a photo educator, Julia is the Director of The Julia Dean Photo Workshops and has taught at many prestigious colleges and universities as well as at the Santa Fe and Maine Photographic Workshops.
